Semaglutide/Tirzepatide

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are antidiabetic medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes to help control blood glucose levels. It is also FDA approved for patients with chronic obesity leading towards metabolic disease. 

How does it work?

  • Stimulates glucose-dependent insulin release from pancreatic cells.

  • Slows gastric emptying and helps you feel fuller for longer.

  • It can help you be successful when added to appropriate diet and lifestyle modifications:

  •  Eat whole foods. Focus on nutrient dense foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole-grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats.

  •  Avoid or limit highly processed foods

  • Aim for 64 oz of water or more per day.

  • Prioritize sleep! Aim for 7-9 hours per night

  •  Move your body every day. Take a walk, ride your bike, or join a yoga class. Just find something you enjoy that gets your muscles moving.

Lap Band Adjustments 

An adjustment, also known as a “fill,” involves adding fluid to the band around your stomach. This adjustment tightens the band and narrows the opening between the upper and lower portions of the stomach. As a result, the rate at which food passes through is slowed down, allowing you to feel satisfied and no longer hungry more quickly.
